Weddings in Houston
Yes, I’m a book editor, but I’m also a writer. One of things I love most is to write about weddings—something that has kept me busy for the past five years. Every month I capture the love stories of wonderful bridal couples and their walk down the aisle. As a Houston area wedding editor I’ve seen some expensive and over-the-top celebrations, as well as smaller vowel exchanges that are equally beautiful! Cost doesn’t matter, but certainly photography does.
It’s all about what makes your wedding one of a kind. There’s always a bride and groom, but what creative elements set the event apart? That’s what we look for — the creative elements. A good wedding photographer will go for those “editorial” shots that reflect the originality, fun and ambiance of your special day. In fact, your photographer can ensure your wedding is far from “cookie cutter” if you explain before hand what you envision.
Here’s a link to more than fifty weddings that did just that — they knocked it out of the ball field with glorious ideas and images that helped tell the story: Houston Lifestyles & Homes Memorable Weddings.
Creativity in a Magazine Wedding
We look for weddings that will inspire future brides and memorable photos that capture:
- DIY touches
- Clever guest books
- Unusual photography
- Fresh floral
- Thoughtful party favors
- And more!
If your photographer has captured these images and you are a bride or groom who live in or grew up in the Houston, TX area, let me know. I’m always on the look out for the next memorable wedding.
I wish I could interview brides throughout Texas, but we write for our readership in and around Houston, TX. This includes Fort Bend, The Woodlands, Cy-Fair, the Katy/Fulshear area and greater Houston metroplex.
If you were married within the past three or so years and feel you are a candidate, then I’ll need to see your high resolution photography first (1 mb or larger). We’ll need your bridal and reception photos too, and perhaps even your engagement photos. Dropbox works great for these files. There is a process, so please contact me first before sharing photos.
If my editor feels your photos are a good fit for our magazines, I’ll get the nod to interview you. It’s exciting, and every wedding is special. Whether you opted for a country-chic theme or a glamorous Hollywood-style ceremony, our readers want to know!
