For Authors

YOU’VE WRITTEN A BOOK. NOW WHAT?

We have your editing handled. Now you have a green light for publishing. You may want to self-publish. If so, what’s next?

Book Cover Design

You need book cover design. I can point you to talented graphic artists who designs covers precisely as you envision—a work of art unique to your book.

Formatting

Next, you need formatting for print, Nook, Kindle, iPad and, perhaps, Smashwords. You need an ISBN, barcode, Creatspace account and an Amazon page. I can point authors to professional formatters who have pleased so many of my clients and taken the headache out of publication.

Website or Landing Page

You also need a website or landing page with your own domain, links to your social media, and calls to action—which compels online viewers to download your ebook or buy the print version. I point my clients to a a firm specializing in emerging authors on a tight budget.

Book Trailers, Audio Teasers, Audio Books

What about book trailers or audio teasers? What about audio books? Not all authors go this extra mile to publicize their book. But it may be something you want to pursue. You need a video expert who can create a professional YouTube book trailer. You need the perfect voice over artist who can produce a teaser, or perhaps a voice over team to narrate your entire book. I will point you to the pros who make a living on video and audio services.

Traditional Brick and Mortar Publishers

Perhaps you don’t want to self-publish. You may want your book published by a traditional publisher. This is no easy task. You’ll need a literary agent to approach the top-rated publishing houses, and that involves submitting your book over and over again. It may take months or even years. But then again, it may happen suddenly. The odds are NOT stacked in your favor.

Many authors ask me to help. Yes, I can point you to literary agents. I can help you write pitches. But there is no sugar-coating the work and dedication required. I will support you through it to the best of my ability.
